Carl Eickhorn, etched squirrel holding
sword TM with Original above squirrel. Well detailed oak leaf
embellished pommel and crossguard with Eickhorn 2nd pattern eagle.
Much normal darkening of age remains in the recesses of the
pommel oak leaves as well as the crossguard eagle/swastika. Dark
yellow, solid celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks or chips, and
with nice toning in the recesses of the grip swirls.
Clean blade in very good condition / has not been cleaned or
polished. Blade shows no gray specks, pitting or nicks to cutting
edges. Silver-plated scabbard shows dark, gun-metal-gray age
patina age matching age patina on hilt fittings. Scabbard is complete
with the thick throat and reverse, center mounted, flat-head screw
normally associated with Eickhorn 2nd pattern Army daggers. This
shows a dent on one side (see photos).
The original 42cm portepee is complete with original factory
string. This does show wear.
Superb Eickhorn produced Army dagger with recently obtained.
