Pair of haunting Arts and Craft cast iron antique figural andirons with amber or yellow glass eyes that glow in the firelight. Each owl sits upon a tree branch. Believed they date to the last of the 19th century to early 20th. Heavy molded cast iron.
Both are stamped in the back, 'National Foundry. The water on the back is from a damp cloth that I dusted with before photos. Sorry :)
Approximate size: 15" tall, 9" wide at branches, 5" wide across body and 15" inches at back bar.
Condition is very good. Some very minor wear from age. Solid and heavy, well taken care of. Please enlarge all photos and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks.
