In the mid-century, you could always find some souvenir made from cedar while you were traveling. This cutie is showing Castle Rock, Mich. It is the oldest lookout point near St. Ignace, Michigan...known as "Pontiac's Lookout" by the Ojibwa Tribe. All made from cedar wood, looks like a small chest. Working hinges and latch. Small sticker with town name still on the front lower edge.
Measures approx. 5.25" long by 3.25" deep, and 2.5" tall. Very good condition except for a few minor scratches due to age and handling. A light wax will make them disappear.
