A very cool staved primitive
oak early bourbon, whiskey barrel or wine? It is
stamped at the inside bottom of the barrel what looks to
read...Fex n Fruit Produce Co. So. ???? Minn. I can't find
any information on this co.
This is as found condition and looks like someone burned
inside at one time....this only shows up on the interior
walls, not the base, so kind of weird. I still believe this
to be quite attractive and decorative.
The bands are showing heavy surface rust but are
solid....and as can be seen in photos, have slipped from
their locations due to shrinkage.
No lid. Some of the slats are bulging but I believe with the
bands put back in place, they can be as well.
This will make a wonderful decorating item especially in the
autumn season or holidays.
A good decorating piece for porch, store front, home bar or
craft project.
Tall willow or cat-tails, corn stocks for autumn, put a
pirate, skeleton or pumpkin in or on it for Halloween, use
greenery,
Christmas pine etc would make this pop for the Christmas
holidays and add a great country feel for your rustic decor.
It measures approx. 21.5" tall x 16" widest x 12.5" at the
opening. Note the large wood stopper in the center where a
spigot went.
