An antique wooden firkin with cover from
the mid 19th century. It stands 11.75” tall to the top of
the cover, 12" top diameter and 12.5" diameter at the base.
The cover is inscribed "E. F. Lane & Son Marlboro,
Depot N.H.", part of which has faded.
Fingered bands and handle with mushroom pivots. A large
stress crack down the lid. See photos.
The bottom bands are loose from temperature change. Will
swell and tighten which is normal in a warmer climate. Part
of the stack of three in last photo.
Very nice condition, solid and ready to display in a rustic
country home
