This one outstanding piece.
It is extra large in size and full of charm and character!
Late 19th or early 20th century
This came from an estate where most of the items were
Canadian Inuit. We were told that these were used for large
fishing nets by the fisherman. In today's Country primitive
kitchens items like this are in high demand. Great for your
large farm table, kitchen island, or hung on the wall. Could
be used for Holidays filled with greenery and ribbons, load
with fruits or flowers. Would also be a great focal point in
a small shop for display filled with goods.
This piece is a very early solid pine with original rich
green paint. The bottom had four holes made to drain the
water when the nets were thrown in but two of the boards had
been rotted out due to the usage.
They were replaced with old pine that had dry green paint...
as can see, most of that orig. paint is off but left an
attractive aged bottom. A wonderful survivor after years of
service.
Approx. dimensions: 33 inches long, 24 inches deep and 9.75
inches.
