Late 19th c. or early 20th c. painted
wooden figural mechanical Whirligig on metal stand. Stand
can go with the sculpture or put on your own stand.
African American mammy dressed figure churning butter I
believe, or perhaps washing clothes. Not sure. Functions as
it should when the wind blows the propeller. A nearby red
roofed farm building adds to the charm.
Not touched other than placing on stand. Original and a
wonderful example of American Folk Art.
Main portion measures approx. 14.5" long x 10.5" tall.
The propeller is showing a 15.5" span.
