A very nice used and loved antique Scandinavian pine trunk dating from late 19th century. Solid pine construction with handmade metal and early original lock, no key.
Note the old makeshift latch applied later in life. Sturdy forged iron carry handles to each end. Clean interior.
A beautiful warm patina and wonderful palm painted background with a rich nutmeg color.
Floral patterned painted front with two flowers and simple design, Norwegian family history. Handcrafted years ago in Norway and apparently moved over in the first wave of the immigration.
Approx. measurements are: 41.25" long by 19" tall by 20" deep.
Good condition for it's history and age. The wear to the top front of the lid is almost story telling. Worn to a smooth finish with a great burl knot showing above the date.
To the left of the wear on old heavy duty bolt head shows through. The back shows a mustard splotch of paint here and there.
