This charming country cupboard is an authentic example of late 19th century to early 20th century American furniture, valued for its original surface, handmade construction, and practical farmhouse form. It reflects the simpler rural cabinetry favored in Midwestern and Northeastern homesteads. Pieces like this rare mint‑green country cupboard almost never surface anymore. Most early painted cupboards have been stripped, repainted, or altered over the decades, making original‑surface examples increasingly difficult to find.

The cupboard retains its original seafoam‑mint paint, a highly desirable color. Perfect for primitive and farmhouse lovers. The naturally worn finish shows decades of honest use, creating the soft patina that cannot be reproduced. The upper glass‑door section was designed for displaying everyday wares,  ironstone, pressed glass, pantry staples - while the lower storage compartment provided enclosed space for linens or kitchen goods.and with original punched‑tin panels is almost never found anymore, most have been replaced or lost over the last century.

The construction is quite unique. Note the doors. I've not seen this style of construction before. The family we purchased this from thought that a great-grandfather was the builder. The paint is hard to photograph, my photos don't do justice.
