A superb late‑19th‑century oak display cabinet, likely crafted for use in a mercantile or apothecary setting. This piece was made to sit in the center of a room. It exemplifies the precision joinery and mechanical innovation of its era, featuring dual swing doors on both sides, original wavy glass panels on the ends, and a clever sectional design allowing it to be fully disassembled for transport or restoration.

The cabinet’s original hardware system, including threaded steel rods with ball‑end bolts, inset brass fittings, and mortised locking plates - reflects the ingenuity of late Victorian cabinetmakers. Each component was designed for durability and portability, a hallmark of fine commercial furnishings from the 1880s–1890s.
