Vertical File Cabinet (c. 1890–1910) — Dovetailed Drawers


Beautiful turn‑of‑the‑century vertical file cabinet, crafted in solid walnut with a warm, hand‑rubbed finish. Cabinet features five graduated drawers with raised burled panel fronts and turned wooden original knobs, plus a lower compartment with shaped dividers designed for storing ledgers, folios, or file boxes. The hand‑cut dovetail joinery visible on the drawers attests to its early construction quality, and the mortise lock escutcheon on the top drawer suggests office or clerical use. Paneled sides & molded base. Ideal for home office or library use. Would be both a functional and decorative piece. This shows wonderful craftsmanship and a warm, aged finish with rich patina.

Very good antique condition with light wear consistent with age and use. Drawers slide smoothly; door hinges secure. Very minor surface marks if any.
