Used vintage and very cool piece. Purchased in estate from a border town in Northern Minnesota to Canada. This was used to house the mail for island residents.
The postal worker would leave the mail in this well built bin for the island residents and a boat would pick it up and deliver to the Island.

Approx. measurements; 21" across at widest point, 6.5" deep, 26" tall.

It is all galvanized tin and in very nice shape. As the story goes, dating to approx. 1940' - 50's.
This was made by a store owner in town that ran the postal service.....again, very cool piece that can be used for all sorts of fun things.

Put tall cat tails in it, dried flowers, patriotic American flags, store things in it etc. etc. ..... even use it for your mail, although it's deep as to hold a lot of mail, so it would have to be tipped or use a grabber as they did when in use.

A crafty artist could paint something equally cool on this and it could be a welcome to guest.

This has three open holes on the top edge of the back for hanging. Lift top lid in the center with handle. As with most older community's no need for a lock. Wish it were like that today.

Fun gift idea for the gardener in your family or close friend. Or put on your porch or patio.
